Winter walking through the Aletsch Forest

The Aletsch Arena maintains 72 kilometres of groomed winter walking trails and fourteen kilometres of snowshoe routes. The finest runs from Riederalp via the Riederfurka into the Aletsch Forest, where the old Arolla pines hang heavy with snow. The paths are rolled flat, so ordinary winter boots are enough and snowshoes aren't needed. Mountain huts along the way let you warm up indoors. For those who don't ski, this is the way to still spend a full day on the mountain.
