Suspension bridge over the Massa Gorge

The suspension bridge over the Massa Gorge is 124 metres long and hangs eighty metres above the ravine, right where the meltwater of the Aletsch Glacier emerges from the mountain. Built in 2008, it links Riederalp with Belalp, making a day trip between the two areas possible. The walkway noticeably sways underfoot, turning the crossing into a small test of nerve. The walk there is demanding but well signposted. Anyone afraid of heights is better off watching from the side.
