Eggishorn via ferrata

The via ferrata on the Eggishorn measures 1.4 kilometres with 145 metres of ascent and is graded K2 to K3, meaning moderately difficult. You're clipped to a steel cable with intermediate anchors the whole way, climbing iron rungs up the rock face with the glacier constantly below you. Allow around three hours. A set with helmet, harness and clamps is compulsory and can be hired in the area. A guide is strongly recommended for anyone doing it for the first time.
