Marmot-watching at Spielboden

At Spielboden, at 2,488 metres, the marmots are so used to people that they come right up to the path. Children can see them close up without binoculars, something that's rarely possible elsewhere in the Alps. Feeding them isn't encouraged and isn't necessary either, they turn up regardless. From Spielboden you can walk on to Längfluh at 2,868 metres, where a glacier restaurant looks out over the icefall. The cable car takes you in either direction.
