Summer skiing on the Allalin

The Allalin and Fee glaciers offer twenty kilometres of pistes where skiing is possible in summer, one of the few places left in the Alps where that's still possible. International ski teams come here to train, so the grooming quality is high. In 2026 the Metro Alpin runs from 20 June to 31 October and the Alpin Express from 18 July to 31 October, daily from seven to four, with the last ascent at a quarter to four. Starting early is wise, since the snow softens by midday. Skiing in a T-shirt in August remains a curious experience.
