Climbing the Weissmies

From Hohsaas you climb to the summit of the Weissmies, at over four thousand metres, in around four hours, via the Trift Glacier and the south-west ridge. It's one of the more accessible four-thousanders in Valais, but the glacier is crevassed and a guide is strongly recommended. Slopes reach up to around forty degrees. The first ascent dates back to 1855. For anyone wanting to climb their first four-thousander, this is one of the most logical choices.
