Skiing on Hohsaas

Depending on how it's counted, twenty-six to thirty-four kilometres of pistes with eight lifts, from the valley station at 1,559 metres to the mountain station at over three thousand metres. The emphasis is on red runs with substantial vertical drops, and thanks to the altitude the snow is reliable. The season generally runs from around 20 December to early April. Unlike Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund is reachable by car right up to the valley station. On the way up you look straight across at the Weissmies.
