Floodlit night trail

Between Ulrichen and Obergesteln lies a floodlit 4.45-kilometre cross-country trail where you can ski on into the evening. In a valley where the sun already disappears behind the mountains by three o'clock in December, that's no luxury but a lifeline. The loop is flat and follows the river. Because it's dark and the lamps light only the track itself, it feels quite different from skiing by day. One of the nicest evening activities in the whole region.
