The Goms cross-country ski network

More than a hundred kilometres of cross-country trails run through the flat valley floor from Oberwald to Niederwald, with a day pass from CHF 7. The Rottenloipe measures 19.56 kilometres and is easy; the Hangloipe, at 21.49 kilometres, climbs the flank and is considerably tougher. There's also a sunny trail to Münster, a training loop and a race course. Classic and skating styles each have their own tracks throughout. The Goms is regarded as Switzerland's finest cross-country skiing region, and on a clear January day it's easy to see why.
