Glacier Express from Brig

The Glacier Express runs between Zermatt and St Moritz and stops in Brig, meaning one of the world's most beautiful train journeys begins seven minutes from the chalet. The carriages have panoramic windows that curve up into the roof, and the route climbs over the Oberalp Pass to almost two thousand metres. You can ride the whole line or just the stretch to Zermatt or the Goms. Reservations are compulsory and worth making well ahead in high season. Even those who normally have no interest in trains will spend the whole day looking out of the window.
