Guided town walk

From June to October, a public town walk of an hour and a half departs every Thursday at quarter past five. The starting point is the Chavez fountain on Sebastiansplatz, named after the aviator who was the first to fly over the Alps in 1910 and died in the landing at Domodossola. The guide takes you past the Stockalper Palace, the old trade routes and the places where the Simplon Tunnel transformed the town. Participation costs CHF 15 per person. In 2026 Brig-Glis received the Wakker Prize for precisely this carefully preserved old town.
