Canyoning in the Massa Gorge

The Massa Gorge carries meltwater from the Aletsch Glacier and is one of the coldest and most dramatic gorges in Valais as a result. Under guidance you descend it with a thirty-metre abseil and an eight-metre jump into a glacial pool. Wetsuit, helmet and equipment are provided; you do need to be able to swim. It's a half-day outing and certainly no gentle stroll, but not an extreme sport for experts either. Booking runs through the Belalp cable car.
