Belalp Hexe

Since 1983, more than fifteen hundred participants in witch costume have descended from the Hohstock to Blatten every January: twelve kilometres and around 1,800 metres of descent. It's not a competition for specialists but a village-wide festival that draws the whole valley in, complete with broomsticks, green faces and music along the way. Spectators gather along the piste and in the village. The next edition is planned for January 2027. Guests can also sign up, but early booking is advised.
