Skiing on the Hannigalp
Forty-four kilometres of pistes between 1,619 and 2,864 metres with ten lifts, of which nine kilometres are easy, 33 kilometres intermediate and two kilometres advanced. That split explains why Grächen is known as a family area: there's plenty of comfortable red terrain and little to alarm anyone. The Hannigalpbahn takes you to the mid-station at 2,114 metres, the heart of the area. The village sits on a broad sun terrace and is largely car-free. From Ried-Brig it takes about thirty-five minutes to drive there via Visp and St. Niklaus.
