Bettmerhorn glacier platform

The gondola, built in 1995, carries you from Bettmeralp to the mountain station at 2,647 metres, where a viewing platform hangs directly above the Aletsch Glacier. You look out over more than twenty kilometres of ice that has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2001. Those who climb on for another half hour reach the true summit at 2,872 metres, with views there of the Matterhorn, Dom and Weisshorn. The restaurant at the station has a terrace on the same side. Accessible in both winter and summer.
